Some of the best Marriott Hotels for Caribbean Getaways

In honour of Atlantis, Paradise Island Bahamas, we have summarized some of our other preferred Marriott hotels in the Caribbean in the Marriott Autograph Collection. TPG employee Lane Nieset highlights 8 points to escape the cold this winter and offers uncostly stays using your Marriott Rewards and Ritz Carlton Rewards.

San Juan Marriott Resort

San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. With beautiful shores, a light breeze and no passport, Puerto Rico is becoming an increasingly popular weekend getaway destination in the Caribbean. Located on fashionable Condado Beach in the bustling capital of San Juan, this 525-room, AAA 4-diamond hotel offers an ideal Puerto Rico seaside retreat with plenty of room to stretch out on the soft, imminent sand. If you prefer the pool, you can wander around a lounger, the hot tub, and the waterslide. As soon as the sun sets, you can try your luck at Stellaris Casino. The newly refurbished guest rooms feature Marriott’s signature “revive” bedding and balconies that offer sweeping views of the city, pool and Caribbean.

The Ritz-Carlton

We do not know what we love more about this 30-acre resort in the US Virgin Islands – the infinity pool on St. Thomas’s Great Bay Beach or the pool overlooking the ocean and nearby islands. This 180-room hotel features four oceanfront restaurants, a beachfront spa with a gazebo for sand treatments and its catamaran, called Lady Lynsey, where guests can dine out, snorkel or even private treasure hunts.

This luxury resort sits on 140 acres of Grand Cayman, stretching from the Caribbean to the North Sound. It offers the best of both worlds – a beautiful location on Seven Mile Beach and a range of modern amenities. Thanks to “Aqua Butlers” you do not have to touch a finger in your private beach cabin equipped with snacks, a DVD player and an iPod docking station. If you want to explore the water, book a snorkelling cruise, take a sunset kayak safari or join a sailing lesson. If you feel like it, head to Blue, the on-site seafood restaurant of award-winning New York chef and TV star Eric Ripert.

Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino

The decor of this 247-room resort in Curaçao’s Piscadera Bay reflects the island’s colourful Dutch influences, with plenty of pastel shades to fill a crayon box. Enjoy the island landscape from the beach or the outdoor pool, where you can swim in the Seabreeze Bar and Restaurant, or grab a stool at the Boardroom Beach Bar in a Tiki Hut overlooking the ocean. For those looking to dive or snorkel on nearby reefs, there is a five-star PADI dive centre right on the beach.
