Flights from Florida to Cuba

Cuba will soon be more accessible for US travelers as the Obama Administration loosens travel restrictions to the island, allowing “people to people” travel and tours, aimed at broadening contact between individual Cubans and Americans.

Key West, just half hour by air from Cuba, received US government permission to offer flights to Cuba, Reuters reports. Charter flights with up to 10 arriving passengers will be permitted. Other airports that recently have won permission for Cuba flights include Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore, Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Florida’s Key West airport is currently being upgraded to accept larger international flights. Flights from the city must still be approved by the Cuban government.
